Saw this from Jeff Pelletier - was surprised it wasnt a sponsored post because it sounded like it.

Still some good tips re hydration for a race so I thought I would share!

I think its definitely good advice to take into account weather but I think its actually easier to stay on top of your hydration/nutrition if extreme weather conditions if you use electrolyte drinks.

I know Courtney was interviewed and said one of her strategies after her DNF at Hardrock was to utilise more water based electrolytes and calories to stop her stomach turning and then did just that and switched to water only in UTMB that year (according to the interview anyway).

I think flavour fatigue is a big one though. I like using Infinit cause I find the flavour quite subtle and I dont get sick of it quickly like some of the sweeter tasting alternatives (which always seems to be what they have on course).

I'm a huge fan of liquid nutrition. My stomach can handle it seemingly endlessly which is the big bonus.

There are so many brands now but you need to make sure you aren't mixing up pure electrolyte mixes with ones that are high calorie too.
